How to Wrap a Gift - Made Easy!
Gift Wrapping Made Easy
With all of the great gift bags these days it may be compelling to just go
the easy route and avoid wrapping gifts.

However, what we must remember is the great experience we all have
when we open a beautifully wrapped present:

  • It is special.
  • It can be a reminder of the excitement we once had opening a
    gift when we were young.
  • And it leaves an impression on us - that the person we received
the gift from took the extra time to make it the perfect present.

When we have the perspective of being the receiver of the gift, we
understand why a wrapped gift can make all the difference in it's
presentation.  After all, we say at Box and Wrap - "Many times it is not
just the gift that makes the impression...it is the packaging!"

Whether you own a store and want to offer gift wrapping service or you
are wondering how to just get through wrapping several gifts with ease,
we have the "How to Wrap a Gift" Guide just for you!"
How to Wrap a Gift
1) Before you begin, you must get organized.  If you are going to do a lot of wrapping or you
are a store using Ream Size Wrapping Paper rolls, you may want to invest in some Ream
Cutters and Ribbon Racks.  We have several to choose from on our
Equipment Page.   If your
Gift Wrapping needs are smaller we have
100' Roll Gift Wrap that comes in it's own Cutter Box!
(the same concept as plastic wrap and foil used for the kitchen)
Also, have on hand, scissors, tape and double sided tape, and a ruler.
Yes, We Said It - Wrapping a Gift Can be Easy
and Fun, When You know What You are Doing!
2) Cutting  the Wrapping Paper To the Appropriate Size:  The easiest way is to loosely
wrap the paper around the box, allowing a 2" overlap.   Or you can measure all the way
around the box and add 2" inches, then cut the paper this length.
3)Tape the Paper to the Box: Place the gift wrap print side down and put your box top-side
down and centered on top of the paper so the seam will be on the bottom once it is
wrapped.  Wrap the paper around the box securing one flap in the center with a piece of
tape.
4) Place the double-sided tape under the edge of the other flap and bring it tightly around the
box so it
overlaps the first.
5)Tape the Edges of the Wrap: You prepared earlier in Step 2 by cutting the excess paper
off the ends.  Now, rotate the box so one end is facing you.  Fold in the left and right edges
of gift wrap to form a top and bottom end flap. Carefully crease all diagonal edges of the
flaps.
6) Bring the upper flap down against the end of the box and secure it with tape.
8) You are Done! Turn the box over so the seamless side is on top.  Then add a ribbon or
bow for the final touch!
7) Bring the lower flap up so it overlaps the top flap and secure it with double sided tape.
Then Repeat steps 5-7 on the other end of the box.
Prepare Now for Step 5 by cutting excess off the Folded Ends: Move the box toward the
end of the paper so you can fold the paper a little bit more than halfway up the side of the
box.  Hold the box in place and make a mark on the gift wrap where this side reaches a little
bit more than halfway up the end.  Remove the box from the paper, and cut the excess
paper from the marked end.  Repeat on the other side.
Showing a
perfect sizing for
the folded edge.
And that's How to Wrap a Gift!
